This course is designed to examine and apply the skills, tools, and information
necessary to identify and explain various types of components. Components
covered will include drives, motherboards, memory, central processing
units (CPU's), and ports.
CRT 131 Computer Hardware Troubleshooting ----5
This course is designed to examine and apply the skills, tools, and information
necessary to troubleshoot computer hardware components. Internal computer
components will also be diagnosed. With the knowledge gained during this
course, students will be able to troubleshoot any IBM-compatible computer
system.
CRT 151 Computer System Architecture ------- 2
This course is designed to examine and apply the skills, tools, and information
necessary to identify and understand various types of systems within the
computer. Systems covered will include CPU and cache memory, buses, addresses,
instruction sets, and interrupts. Instruction will include interfaces
between the systems within the computer and hardware components.
CRT 161 Computer System Troubleshooting ------- 6
This course is designed to examine and apply the skills, tools, and information
necessary to troubleshoot systems within the computer. With this knowledge,
students can troubleshoot the bus system, memory and memory addressing
system, computer system, timing and start, and runtime error codes.
CRT 171 Input/Output Devices ------- 5
This course is designed to examine and apply the skills, tools, and information
necessary to install, set up, and troubleshoot various peripheral equipment.
Instruction will cover keyboard, pointing devices, scanners, printers,
modems, and CD-ROMS. With this knowledge, students can install, set up,
and troubleshoot peripheral equipment, hardware, and the interface with
the computer.
CRT 181 Technical Writing ------- 1
This course provides instruction on the organization and writing of technical
documents including proposals, business letters, memos, and technical
reports.
CRT 191 Professional Development ------- 2

professionally and personally. Emphasis will be placed on attendance,
professional attitude, and classroom behavior. The course examines several
of the major concerns of employers: problem-solving, time management,
and teamwork.
NET 201 Advanced Operating Systems ------- 4
Advanced instruction on the most commonly used major operating systems.
Components covered will be installation and configuration of dual boot
operating systems, system file configuration and editing, system files,
and system conflict resolution.
Prerequisite: Operating Systems.
NET 211 Advanced Integrated Applications ------- 4
Advanced instruction on how to use the major operating systems. This course
provides students in-depth knowledge of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access,
and PowerPoint. Students will learn how to do desktop publishing, create/manage
databases and spreadsheets, and how to create integrated presentations.
The course provides instruction for simulated business problems, creating
and maintaining records and inquiring, sorting, searching, and preparing
reports.
Prerequisite: Integrated Applications.
NET 111 Novell Networking ------- 4
This course will cover the creation of Novell networks, which will include
setting up file servers and network client computers. Client computer
set up will include the major operating systems. Students will also be
trained in the administration of Novell networks, including the creation
of users, groups, login scripts, and using the NDS.
NET 121 Cisco Networking Academy I ------- 6
This course will teach students how to design, build, and maintain computer
networks, enabling them to develop the skills they need to compete in
an increasingly technology-dependent workplace. Students taking this course
via the Internet must have access to a computer with appropriate software
installed.
NET 151 Windows NT Networking ------- 4
